16th March 2014
Windsurfing: West Mersea
Wind Direction: West
Wind Stength: F3/F4
Surf / Sea State: flat
Air Temperature: warm 20C
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: SUNNY
Max Speed: 23.2 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 14.1 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Ian arranged a 9.30am meet at Mersea with Mark to meet the tide spot on. The March weather was a barmy and sunny 20C - tee shirt weather.
The wind was a light WNW at the grass carpark end so switched to old Mersea at the boardwalk opposite the power station.
Another 4 locals turned and we grab a nice carparking on the grass. The bay at the board walk is a perfect flat water venue for freestylers but our game is blasting so game on.
Rigged Pryde twin cam H2/8.5 JP Excite pro 146 spot on for the initial F3 whilst Mark rigged 8.2 and Ian 7.0
The wind for the first 15 mins for the boys was disappointing, but as I launched the wind filled and I hammerred over to the Bradwell Power station.
The day panned out the same with F4 solid most times. Had loads of runs with Mark who had is head cam Go pro on and should have loads of film looking at my arse as the North 8.2 X type needed more wind to stay with the Pryde. Light weight Ian hardly stopped planing.
Another 5 star easy sail tanking it on flat water from Mersea to Bradwell Power station, in the sunny weather. Mark done me for top speed with 25.4 kts as I forgot to get a GPS broad reach on the clock- so only clocked 23.2 reaching. in the end the tide turned and was too knackered. Ian sneak a last run in but lost some ground so called it a day.
Mersea was so crowded we had to cancel the beer and oysters at the Mersea Oyster bar
